I work within the Residential Conveyancing Team at Redkite Solicitors, based in the Stonehouse Office.
After spending many years working in the property industry as an estate agent in London and then Cheltenham I decided to retrain and I obtained my law degree at the University of Gloucestershire in 2007.
I deal with sales, purchases and remortgages for the firm and, during my sales days, I learned a few things which have stayed with me, the two most important lessons being:
1. No two clients are the same. You have to have the ability to know what is needed by each individual in order to provide the best service for your client.
2. Although everyone is different there is one thing when they are buying or selling a property that everyone has in common: it is a big deal. It is not something to be cavalier about; there is usually a tremendous amount riding on it, and thoroughness is key.
When I began dealing with the legal side of property transactions I learned that the most stressful aspect usually came from a lack of communication between everyone involved. On that basis I always promise my clients and the agents that I will do my very best to keep them regularly up to date and I pride myself that I have never broken that promise. As a result I feel that the estate agents I deal with have come to value the work I do for their clients and recommended my services because of my diligence and attention to detail
Having spent the last 3 years working alongside Allan Burt (formerly of Redwood Burt and later of Pinkerton Leeke) until his retirement in 2017, I made a vow to carry on our good work providing a first class service to clients who value quality and commitment.
I live locally in Cheltenham which means I am able to cover the entire Gloucestershire region from our three offices and my base office is Stroud.
My spare time is usually taken up with spending time with my two boys but you might also find me on the netball court (assuming I am not injured) if you’re lucky.
