I am a HR Professional with a strong academic and career background. I have an in-depth knowledge of employment law and have been effective at managing complex people cases.
Having graduated with a law degree in 2003, my career started at a consultancy firm supporting and advising businesses on all HR and employment law related matters.
Since then I have worked providing HR advice and support, predominantly in the Manufacturing and Care industry within in-house HR roles. Most recently I worked as the UK HR Manager for Freudenberg Oil and Gas, working at both an operational and strategic level, supporting Senior Management with all HR and people matters.
Prior to that I was the HR Business Partner with BUPA Care Services, through which I was the HR lead in all people aspects, involving a new build care home and the sale of another whilst being the HR contact at strategy meetings with Local Authority and Adult Protection. The majority of my career has been spent working within a unionised environment and I have in excess of 15 years’ experience of advising on HR and employment related matters..
Through this experience, I have acquired a depth of knowledge from working within industry, which has furnished me with first-hand experience of being at the forefront of high risk and often complex cases, as well as supporting managers with the day to day ‘people’ issues.
Since working in-house within HR, I have chosen to pursue a career in the legal field and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2018 with the aim of qualifying as an Employment Law Solicitor once I complete the appropriate training. I also have CIPD Chartered membership and am qualified to CIPD Advanced Level 7.
When I am not in work, my favourite past times including spending time with my family and long picturesque walks. I am local to the area and a fluent welsh speaker.
